    Fishing

    Nomenclature

    Called Ngalta by the Aborigines; the north-east portion was first named 'The Hume' by Hamilton Hume in 1824. It now bears the name of Sir George Murray (1772-1846) (Secretary of State for the Colonies) throughout its whole length.
